Naples centerpiece is 11 mile Long Lake covering some 4,867 acres providing direct boating access to Sebago Lake through Brandy Pond and the Songo River locks. Overall the Lakes Region offers some 30 lakes and ponds, numerous golf courses and campgrounds, several ski areas, extensive snowmobile trails and year round recreation in a small town environment.
Spacious 4 Bedroom Home For Sale set in the woods, A great value for the money, check out the pictures and plans.
The home is sheltered from the main road with a row of thick pine trees and an earth bermed stone wall. A circular driveway has easy parking and access for four or more cars. A small pond with a waterside deck, sandy beach and and barbecue pit ceate a personal park great for family gatherings. The park like back woods includes space for a camper set in an area of large old growth pine trees. A great house for a growing family, a guy who likes to tinker in the garage or even run a small business out of the garage and a woman that never had enough closet space (see the 8'x10' walk in cedar closet). The location also has a great exposure potential for a business sign out on the main road.

This has been a perfect place to raise the kids and we have taken advantage of this central location to enjoy the summer out on the many lakes and ponds and the winters out on the ski slopes, snowmobile and cross country ski trails. With the kids gone now we are looking to move to a smaller home. Some of the nice built in features of the home include a central vacuum system, lots of kitchen cupboard space, lots of storage space. The indoor wood storage is separated from the living areas and can hold about 8 cords of wood. You can use the wood stove to keep the house toasty warm or use the oil fired boiler (installed in 2006) if you don't feel like feeding the woodstove. The woodstove is built into a masonry chamber with a rock bin behind it that draws the air through the rocks to store the heat and distribute it to the rest of the house through a central whole house clean air filter. The house style was once featured in "Mother Earth News" as the upside down house that locates the bedrooms in the earth sheltered daylight level where it is very quiet and stays warmer in winter and cooler in summer. Its not like a conventional "finished basement", because it is built as dry finished space with thermal insulation on the outside of the masonry walls and under the floors to keep the mass of the concrete walls and floors warm and dry. With the thermal mass inside the thermal envelope, it helps to buffer the variations in outdoor temperatures. The bedrooms downstairs are also separated by block walls that make room-to-room noise transfer minimal and isolated from the spread of fire. The master bedroom is a very-very quiet place to sleep. The laundry area is central to all of the bedrooms eliminating carrying baskets of clothes up and down stairs.

Cross Section of thermal shell and high Mass features
In the garage there is room for tools on several pegboard areas, a lot of built in shelf storage, and a roomy workbench. I put in the bridge crane to change engines and find it useful to maintain my motorcycles and backhoe, as well as to load or unload snowmobiles into the pick-up truck. The crane travels 40 feet side to side across two car bays and a center work area as well as 16 feet back and forth on the trolley beam. (The chain fall is not included but negotiable). There is a built in hose reel for compressed air (I'm keeping the air compressor but it is negotiable). I currrently have a climbing wall set up in the center of the garage but it can be taken down easily or left up if you climb. The garage is heated by the radiant floor in the family room overhead. The family room has a 1-1/2" thick lightweight concrete floor for fire rating with radiant pex tubing embedded for heating.
